Odds and Ends

I’m just popping in today with a few random things.

You may have noticed there were some technical issues with Monday’s post. If you weren’t able to see it, please go back and check out out the guest post from Jane of the Fairdare blog on natural fiber athletic wear. She shares some great sources and ideas to help you move away from synthetic (plastic) fibers in your workout clothes.

I forgot to share with you a piece I wrote in February for New Dream on Making the Shift Towards Zero Waste. I’d love for you to read it.

If dandelions are popping up in your yard (they are in mine), you may want to revisit a post from last year on Dandelion Wishes.

Lastly, I wanted to leave you with a couple book recommendations. I just finished Untamed: The Wildest Woman in America and the Fight for Cumberland Island. This is a fascinating (and page-turning) story of the life and work of Carol Ruckdeschel, a naturalist who fights tooth and nail for wilderness on Cumberland Island. More than that, Untamed is a portrait of the devastation on our planet caused by humanity and an alarm for change.

For the little ones in your life, we’re loving the wordless book, Sidewalk Flowers. This book would especially resonate with urban dwellers.

Enjoy the rest of March! I’ll be back here in April.
