Five simple things that made my week.
2. Buckwheat granolabecause, move over oats, you’ve just been replaced. So good!
3. Fermented sauerkrautbecause it’s the first batch that didn’t end up in the compost. I received expert kraut-making advice from my friend Leslee and loosely followed her favorite recipe.
4. Homemade corn tortillasbecause my friend Celia inspired me (her’s are way more professional looking).
5. A favorite salsabecause something needed to top those tortillas.
Can you tell I’ve been hungry? Gathering around the table with my family is always a favorite part of my week. This week at the dinner table my almost 17 year-old son quizzed my 18 year-old daughter on her beliefs to “help” her determine her political affiliation so she’ll cast the right vote on her first ballet. I listened to the conversation with a smile on my face and a settling of my heart that these kids (mine and others) put great thought into their choices and the future of their world. Happy Friday!
