Five simple things that made my week.
1. Homemade mayonnaisebecause I avoid unnecessary packaging and highly processed ingredients by making my own. I follow the mayo recipe in the Full Moon Feast cook book, which is similar to this recipe.
2. Refried Beans headed to the freezerbecause doubling the recipe made enough for several meals. Twice the food for half the work!
3. A Sharp knifebecause it makes a world a difference to get my knives professionally sharpened. (Denver folks, I was pleased with The Knife Guys. They have a one-day turn-around and do a great job at $3 per knife.)
4. Gym shortsbecause I’m busting through my fabric stash. I love how these gym shorts turned out, using leftover fabric from a quilting project and this free pattern.
April is nearly over and I didn’t post as much as I’d like on the topic of the month, cleaning. I do love making my own cleaning supplies and I love a clean house, but sometimes the act of cleaning takes a bit of talking myself into. Apparently writing about it does too. In any case, I’m moving on from that subject and into May’s theme of nature connection. If April showers linger, I say let’s throw on the raincoats and get outside.
Wishing you bright days ahead!
